scientia curae
Historia medicinae universae shows the motivation of my research work: I don‘t want to claim that I will discuss the whole gamut of medical history. As I see it, the history of medicine does not mean just the history of physicians, but also includes the history of nurses, midwives and other medical professions AND the history of our patients.
My current project examines the life of the Third Reich‘s midwives‘ leader Nanna Conti. I am also undertaking biographies of her professional acquaintances, e.g. Margarete Lungershausen and Prof. Dr. Benno Ottow. My work is part of the increasing body of perpetrator research in Germany.
This homepage is an invitation for dialogue about this period of our history. You will also find a few snippets of information about me and some papers in English.
